Welcome to my bio! I want to begin by first acknowledging how difficult it can be to reach out for support as well as the courage it takes to make this first step. I am so grateful that you are here!
I am a graduate of the Master’s in Counseling & Psychological Services program at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. My goal as a therapist is to create a laid-back, inclusive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, and life experiences at their own pace. I take a collaborative, strengths-based approach to therapy and value the importance of trust, empathy, authenticity and openness in the therapeutic relationship. I also believe humor can be one of our most effective coping skills and, when appropriate, enjoy incorporating it into sessions.
I know how challenging it can feel just to get up and push through this adventure called life, and I feel honored to support others through the many ups and downs along the way. I strive to help clients build a toolbox of practical solutions that they can use right away to manage life's many surprises.
I enjoy working with both adolescents and adults. My therapeutic approach is informed by cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
My clinical interests include working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, panic attacks, health anxiety, life transitions/adjustment, stress, emotion regulation, unwanted thinking patterns, perfectionism, and issues with self-esteem/confidence.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my dogs, reading, hiking, camping, and exploring/experiencing new places and foods.
